Cubicle Chronicles: Productivity and motivational tips for inside sales warriors. By Josiane Feigon.

2009 is about adventure and originality

Living in uncertain conditions is just plain torture. That’s when you hear answers such as,

“we don’t know what the future brings so we have to hang tight and see”

“I can’t commit to that at this time but check back in a few months”

“I have no idea how or when this will shake out, in the meantime nothing is happening”

“not sure, check back”

“things are at a stand-still right now”

Sound familiar? How can you plan, prepare, sell in such uncertain times? How can you generate revenue when everything around you feels frozen?

That’s what 2009 is all about- my theme is about adventure and originality.

Adventure because you want to brave through the storm and ride the rough waters ahead.

Originality because salespeople are some of the most creative and resourceful people and this is their time.

One company that continues to drive adventure and originality is Apple. As I’m writing my 2009 What’s In/Out hotlist, one that made the “in” cut is Macs in the Enterprise versus upgrading XP machines to Vista which is definitely “out.”

Macworld happened this week amidst all the speculation about Steve Job’s health.  But lots of people are blogging about the keynote such as Steve Rubel who wrote about reasons the Internet is Eroding Apple’s Mojo and Guy Kawasaki was shopping this weekend and noticed Apple was the only store that didn’t have 50% off sales signs plastered on it. Apple continues to strive and thrive despite tough times.
