Cubicle Chronicles: Productivity and motivational tips for inside sales warriors. By Josiane Feigon.

Confessions from our Inside Sales Training Participants

This is a big year for TeleSmart — tons of graduates have gone through our  TeleSmart 10 sales training program. This 2-day customized program is designed to take inside sales snipers through a true training experience as they learn the essential sales skills from the beginning to the end of the sales cycle. It’s a powerful program that is very fun, very engaging, moves at a fast pace, and is like no other program out there.

As a the trainer, developer, author, project manager, and the provider of their program (along with my contractor, Martha who is amazing) I get to watch this transformation take place in front of my eyes. It’s always a great experience, but it doesn’t come easy!

Being the motivational sales authority is hard work — especially the first day of the training, when I welcome a new sales team who walk in with their defenses up and attention spans down. They are skeptical of new information, wary about being bored by a two-day training, and angry about being off the sales floor. And they’re also cold, thanks to the cranked-up conference room air conditioner. Add all this up and wrap some dry bagels and weak coffee into the mix and welcome to my training world!

Fortunately, it always gets better. As Day 1 unfolds,  they start having fun. Their curiosity increases, they lighten up, and decide to learn something valuable that will help them as soon as they get back to work. As they come around, I begin to see the “aha” moments happen.  New questions, new insights and new stories are shared, and we move through the content with ease.

Fast-forward to the second day of the training. Now they’re excited about playing some games, confident about role-playing, and eager to get back and try out some new skills. The last hour is all about graduation. They each get a certificate:

and  a copy of my book Smart Selling on the Phone and Online, which they want autographed:

As we say good-bye, the thanks — and confessions — start rolling in:

“I must admit, we’ve had horrible trainings before that weren’t relevant to our role. I was dreading being here, but this was great.”

“I need to be honest. I wanted to get out of this training because I thought it would be a waste of time, but this has been the best training I’ve received in the 16 years since I’ve been here.”

“I always try to walk out of training with a few new ideas, but I didn’t expect to completely change up my strategy, I’m so glad I came to this training.”
