Fedex hasn’t delivered my galley copies of my Smart Selling on the Phone and Online book yet but I’m super stressed these days. The problem is that I’ve watched too many movies of authors who have photographers following them around, sit with Oprah, speak in front of thousands of people and walk into Borders to see their book plastered throughout the first floor.
And then there’s me with my book, in my purse ready to talk to anyone, anytime and anywhere about it. As the book publication date draws near, I’m trying to adjust to the new level of visibility that I must incorporate into my routine. I must be ready anytime to talk about it- even in my sleep. I heard my daughter talking in her sleep and she was speaking in french. I will be speaking in book chapters in my sleep. My new motto has to be to “sell the $h1t of my book” (that’s my creative way of using a swear word in my blog:)
That brings me to the new friends I get to make on this journey= sales authors- what an interesting bunch. So far the sales authors I have met I like pretty well. We are all saying the same things but some say it differently but we all believe we are the first ones to say it and our way works best. I’ve been trying to set up play dates with some of them and some don’t want to share their toys and others want you to play and bring their red wagon filled with tricks. We all have the same pressures which is to increase our Amazon rankings on our book sales and sell, sell, sell to people who will buy, buy, buy our books.
I am preparing for a book blog tour and invite sales authors to bring their wagon and play.
