I’ve been thinking how I could organize my life using the Power Point’s slide sorter function. It would be very cool to look at events in your life that should have happened sooner or later to have more meaning. Being in the training field, I’m super impressed by Power Point masters. And yet still surprised how many have such basic knowledge of building slides or even using the slide sorter for that matter.
My younger sister Sandi and I are very different in some ways and very similiar in other ways. She lives in SoCal and I live in NorCal. She is in the training and development field and so am I. She salvages my Power Point presentations regularly and I annoy her with last minute crisis requests to fix my fonts and graphs on my ppt slides. She has influenced my sense of design and I’ve learned a lot from her.
But we are very connected in strange ways. Last night, I stayed up glued to my laptop watching Garr Reynolds Google Video- he is the master of presentations and his book and company, Presentation Zen have created a movement encouraging us to let go of the dangerous headlock we have our customers in watching our”death by powerpoint” presentations.
This morning, I emailed Sandi and said, you’ve got to check out this video and told her about Presentatioon Zeb and she sent me a photo of the book her boss just ordered for her.
Hey Garr- does that qualify us for a visit to Japan, all expenses paid to sit with you on a long branding session?
