Tonight everyone gathers for the networking party which officially kicks off Dreamforce, the largest user and developer conference of Salesforce.com.
I remember years ago when my buddy Shelly Davenport informed me she was leaving her role as inside sales manager at Hyperion to work for a company that Marc Benioff was starting which claimed No More Software.
She had this little office in downtown San Francisco and the cool thing about this company is they were one of the first to decide to build just an inside sales team and not a field team.
Years later, Salesforce.com has changed the face of salesforce automation and has contributed to the drastic transformation of sales today. About 95% of my customers have Salesforce.com installed and cloud computing is the way to go.
Now, let’s talk about talent and the successful people who have moved on to bigger and better things. Take Aaron Ross, founder of PebbleStorm a true trail blazer, he has reinvented his business and offers CEOs a chance to have fun and do meaningful work and make money. What better formula. Sign up for his great program coming up this week on CEOFlow Sales: 7 Fatal Sales Mistakes CEO’s and VP’s Make
Aaron is a thought leader who comes with experience. He earned his stripes working with the inside sales organization at Salesforce.com and added $100million to their revenues and now shares his secrets for success. Check out his great youtube video- it will make you want to jump on that motorcycle in the background with Aaron and have him fly through crooked streets talking straight strategy.
Tomorrow is the day- be there. I start my day meeting with Bob Perkins, VP of Sales with the American Association of Inside Sales Professionals and then we will check out the opening keynote. The sales sessions will be happening and I’m excited to check out Umberto Milletti’s session at 3:30 on How to Tap into Social Media to Drive Sales Results
And Borders Bookstore in Mission Bay is down the street so from 6-7pm I will be there signing books. Hope to see you there.
