Cubicle Chronicles: Productivity and motivational tips for inside sales warriors. By Josiane Feigon.

What is the cost of doing nothing?

It’s time to come clean and admit this entire year has been spent sitting tight, riding the wake, hunkering down, avoiding risk and basically holding your breath waiting for things to calm down. Whether you have held tight to a bad job or held off on going on a vacation or avoided big purchases. Has this served you?

As we begin to see glimpses of a recovery, there are some rebuilding efforts going on out there but dealing with lost momentum is more serious than it seems. When we miss the beat on something, it takes that much more effort to get it started again. That’s when we pull all the words out that begin with ”re” such as refresh, redefine, refocus, regenerate, replenish, re-evaluate, resurface, reinvent- sound familiar?

My vote is to pick it up now- don’t stall, don’t wait, don’t let your self-doubts or analysis paralysis slow you down. There isn’t a better time to make investments that will pay off and remember the opportunity cost of doing nothing is more expensive that you realize.
